This project is a tribute to one of my favorite graphic novels, Channel Zero by Brian Wood. The story takes place in a dystopian New York City, where the government has implemented a policy known as the Clean Act to sensor any and all media. With free speech no longer a luxury, a girl named Jenny starts a pirate TV station called 'Channel Zero'. I originally designed a title sequence with high hopes that someday this excellent book will be be adapted for television. It's themes and ideas are a shockingly relevant to today's media landscape.

Stark black and white imagery pays tribute to the novels original artwork. A government propaganda copy line, also from the book, runs throughout the sequence and is built into the surrounding world. I chose this line because it establishes an uncompromising and perilous tone for what’s to come.
