The show Last Defense is a docuseries about death row inmates with creditable innocence claims. Shedding light onto the inmates' stories, the show brings attention to the startling fact that four percent of death row inmates are indeed innocent. This title sequence chronicles the timeline of an inmate from crime to conviction, followed by death row, and concluding with the chance of hope despite impending tragedy. A gritty and tactile aesthetic compliments the true crime nature of the show, and contrasts nicely with images of possible freedom.
An additional concept is displayed below that tells a similar story, but focuses heavily on the theme of time. Time is of the essence, and there is a race against the clock to get the inmates' stories heard. It also uses a more natural aesthetic combined with time-lapse photography.
